Lovlies,

I have an Unused Virgin pair of Geisha FIRE FANS FOR SALE.
www.firewhip.com/fans.html (to see them & their description)
I am selling them for $150 (would be $165 plus shipping off the web site)
They are heavier than normal fire fans, possibly too much so if you are petite. Great for men. If you are a strong dancer and are into
tosses- these are weighted to be easy to toss/catch... so if u are interested- let me know. Audette- 415-717-2372 (I live in Oakland but will
be at Harmony festival this weekend and will bring them with me so we could hook up in the North Bay)

Do you have a BELLY DANCE SWORD you don't use much? Want to sell it to me or trade for Costumes or Fans/Jewlery?
Seeking a nice curved sword to practice and perform with for stage shows. $30-55 range or more if trade value.
Again- if this is you- holla at the number above or tribe me.

Blessings,

Living the offering...

For me gratitude and faith have been two great allies that have and will clear the trauma cloud of lifes suffering. I also have learned to embrace body and emotional sensations, as I find they are the only part of my percieved me that is pressent. My friend Aubrey sings a leric "the emotional body holds the key that unlocks the living library of the soul." It is only through truly feeling that I can fully prana surf on infinite nowledge and it is a reconition that this nowledge is in fact the greatest offering that I could ever be. My coocreative potency is so much more emersed in love when I show up, other wise I find myself emersed in symptoms of need for love or need for receptive outlets of my own love to give :) My trauma cloud gets much smaller when I realise the dynamic, 'if it is not love, then it must be asking for love or asking for an outlet for love. This dinamic of giving and recieving energy seems to be the rule of thise life experience. It sure makes things alot easier when this is realized.
Warm regards.

Greetings beloved family, it has been longer than I wanted since I last wrote you. Know that I have been thinking about you, and miss you.

Cassaundra and I are both happy, healthy and in love.
We have been getting some of our samples back, they look great, and manufacturing has already begun on some of the designs.
There is quite the social scene here with about 100 friends from the states, most whom are artists and designers. We just got back from and epic visit to the water palace. We were invited out to do a fire performance and photo shoot. The Water palace is a beautiful garden, full of exotic statues, lotus ponds, fountains and big swimming pools of sacred spring water. A truly epic place to perform at. There were seven of us total, performing on a platform surrounded on two sides by gorgeous lotus ponds. We also had a full gamelan orchestra accompaniment. We got some fantastic photos that we can use for our web site and whatever else we wish. Sharing them with you will be a joy.
We were invited out to stay at this epic estate owned a by some famous Hollywood movie producer whom is in the states working on a movie. He produced the Mummy and the Fast and Furious. Cheesy movies, but the villa’s he owns are amazing, all wooden, traditional styles looking out over the ocean surrounded by beautiful gardens. We took some photos and will show you when we return.
We just finished a romantic afternoon at a nearly private white sand beach with reef a short swim out. I took Aundra out snorkeling for her first time. After we watched the sun set while feasting on fresh fish barbequed over dried coconut husks. Yummy!

We got allot to do over the next couple of weeks and then hope to get a week off to explore some. I will try and post more often. It will be easier as we are getting internet installed at our house.
Loving you immensely.

Magic Sticker

Magic Sticker

The bottom of the sticker has a suatzika intertwined with a star of David. The Suatzika represents the infinite unformed energy of the cosmos, taking form. the Star of david represents the creation process of the flower of life beginning. These to symbols represent the birth of our soul among other things. Our soul is born as a way for creator to experience its creation through us, creator also creates us to co-create with. Our soul gives birth to our physical form as a tool to learn how to become present to the creation process and through this learned presence to eventually have the integrity, presence and love to exist as a instant manifestational god beings. With this in mind, the more in love and present we become, the quicker our manifestational abilities become. The two serpents weaving through the chakra's represent our two strands of DNA, the snake represents healing and transformation. They show us that this world is made of two charges, a positive charge, which is a charge of giving of love energy and comes in the form of compassion, healing, nurturing, beauty, etc...
There must be a negative charge, which is the charge of receiving the positive charge, when this part of ourself or others is not receiving enough love, it gives us symptoms for need for love in the form of fear, jealousy, regrets, ignorance, etc... it is our job as a loving parent to a child in need to be able to decipher these symptoms for there true meaning and to act appropriately with wisdom, using our positive charged part of ourselves to establish the balance.
Where the snakes meet in the heart we see a Balinese style Om symbol in gold, the Om and the western symbol of the heart are the same, what they represent is the Mind, Body and Spirit harmonizing with Nature through heart consciousness, the Buddhist's call this Dhamma, it is important to understand Dhamma, also referred to as the Law of Nature. Dhamma show's us that everything is constantly changing and therefore impermanent, with this understanding, it is not necessary or helpful to attach ourselves to anything, to see and experience life without attachment. As soon as we put a label on something and either desire it or develop an obversion to it, we take ourselves out of the love presence of Now. When we harmonize our energy in a balanced way, we become a more potent offering and what we have to offer is our coocreation of life and creation itself represented in the sticker by the hands offering up the lotus flower of life. The Om symbol is in gold, gold is a noble element and cannot be changed to another element, it is always pure though malleable, showing that how we harmonize and make our offering is open to our unique gifts and choice of expression so long as it is coming from a place of purity and love.
I hope this information serves you as you navigate through this reality.
Loving you.

Amazing Gall Stone cleanse...

Hey friends, I just finished doing a gall stone cleanse which has been so healing that I feel it important to share how to do this with you. This is a very good time of the year to do a fast as the season is changing, good time to let go of things not serving the core of our being. It is important that we shed the old to make room for the pressent. Gall stones build up in our liver and gall bladder over the years, this stagnant energy is connected with old emotions that may not be current to our pressent state of being. I passed around eight ounces (about the size of a tenis ball) of gall stones, some of which had been in my body from when I was in middle school. I am currently 32 years old. I feel born anew...

Start the cleanse by eating nothing but fresh organic apples for at least two days before. This is a great time of year for apples, find the neighborhood apple tree and give thanks for the offering. :)
In the mornings, drink a glass of lemon, ginger and fresh garlic juice. An hour after drink a glass of tummeric juice.

Tumeric juice: Take 2-3 inch piece of raw tumeric root, grate super fine with a cheese grater. squeeze a whole lemon on top of the ground tumeric, add a bit of honey or agave nectar, poor a cup or two of water and stir together, let sit for a minute or two and then stir again. Poor through a strainer and squeeze out all the juice from the tumeric. You should be left with a delicious yellow juice that cleanses your blood, liver and lymph system. I learned this drink from a Balanese medicine woman whom says that if you drink this drink once every 1-4 weeks you will live at least 10 years longer. Because of increased blood flow from this drink, you will feel very energized and a little high in a clear sort of way.

After fasting on apples for at least two days, though I fasted for three and one can go for longer, you can begin the gall stone flush.

Before going to bed, take a wash cloth, saturate with warm castro oil and wrap around your gall bladder located under your bottom ribs, a little to the right of the center of your belly. Lightly drum on that area of your body for an hour, breaking up the Gall stones and shaking them loose.

Before going to sleep, drink a full cup of Olive oil with a full cup of fresh grapefruit and lemon juice. Sleep on your right side.

When you wake in the morning, drink a glass of water to get well hydrated, about 40 minutes after the water, drink a glass of 2 teaspoons Epson salt and 1/2 teaspoon seasalt diluted in water. In one hour prepare to be a proud parent of little jade gallstone baby's. You will want to be sure to stay close to the toilet during this time. I highly recomend getting a colonic later that afternoon to help your body release all the stones, plus it will help release old shit that may have stuck to the wall of your stamach that had been poisoning you.
Coming off the fast is very important, you can continue to fast for as many days as you feel you need, I fasted for one additional day, eating nothing. Intigrate food back in your system very, very carefully, your first insinct is to scarfe down lots of food, start slow and simple. I recomend simple soups. Oat pourage with ground flax seeds is really good. Lightly cooked vegitables with flax seeds for digestion. Okra's are good for digestive lube. Intigrate some salads and cooked fish over the next day. Avoid nuts, heavy grains like wheat, heavy meats, raw fish, any saturated fats and allways avoid partially hydrogenated oils.

I look foreward to hearing about your experiences. May you be born anew with new levels of good health. Loving you.

Some thoughts on fear and the minds realationship to the soul

Fear can be very complicated and overwhelming when looking at it as a real thing. What we have to realize is that fear is just a symptome of something else. To understand fear we have to understand the realationship between the Mind, Body and Soul.
The Body is the roots of our tree that both feeds us with life force and provides us with a vessel to which can do the Karmic work that we have been put here to learn.
The Mind is dualistic by nature and function. Its primary function is to serve the soul in the souls process of healing and learning. Unfortunately nobody told this to the mind so often times the mind gets confused and thinks that it is serving itself which leads to sufering. The Mind, being dualistic, dwells in in the past and future where as the soul and its direct conection with the devine is in the emotional body of the now. As with everything else in this physical dimension, the mind has a positive and negative charge, one part of the mind is charged with giving love, and the other part is a reciever of love. If either part of the mind is not getting enough love, be love to give or love to recieve, it will throw a tantrum like a little baby. This where the symptom of fear occurs. When you experience fear, seperate yourself from it by reconizing it as a symptom of some part of your child mind that needs love and with the compasionate understanding of a parent, love and nurture your child mind so that it can better serve your soul and not be stuck on itself. There are three types of energies that exist in this demension, good and evil do not exist. What exists is love and need for love and complete nuturality or ignorance. Whenever something happens it is import to not get stuck on the symptoms but go to the root of the cause. People like George Bush need lots and lots of love, we can help them, for they are caought up in some pretty fucked up symptoms of a mind that is in dire need for love, ballance and reunion with the soul.

The Mind is programed for 'self' preserviation. The Self is not necessarily what is real, the minds percieved self and the true self are different.
The Soul is the real you and does not entirely exist in this dimension as it is too sensitive to exist here. It is none dualistic and has a direct connection with the devine. The Soul can be found through the emotional body of the pressent. 'The emotional body is the key to unlocking the living library of the soul' The soul is not an enlightened being, that is why it created our physical being to help it on its healing/learning process towards enlightenment.

The most important thing to remember is that fear is not real, it is a symptom of some part of ourself or when seen in someone else, that needs love... so love it. A powerfull place to find love is by axcessing your parental instinct and aply it to this inner child of the mind.
I hope this was some help in your healing. Please share any thoughts that you might have. May your love warm all parts that need warmth.

Bali New year #2

Greetings family and friends, I apologize for not e-mailing sooner. Alot of changes to my plans, I have decided not to go to Turkey, though I tried, it was not to be... I am very greatfull to be in Bali. I just finished experiencing the Bali New year which is an amazing event. The whole country really gets into it, decorating the streets with beautifull bamboo and flower arangements. in the evening, huge efigies of horrible demons are peraded to the town center, acompanied by full marching Gamalon archistra's. The energy is so intense, thousands of people, calling the demons out from the shadows to be set free and healed. The next day is a day of silence, the entire island is silent, no electricity, flights, driving of cars... nothing, everyone must stay at home.
I took full advantage of this wonderfull oprotunity and got together with two dear friends to have a brothers gathering. We took sacred medicine and stayed up all night singing mantra's and flow sparing/dance. Several wonderfull things opened up for me. First and most important, I found my true vocal Mantra. My dear friend Agus, a sumatran Yoda whom has been studying martial/spiritual arts since a little boy opened the circle with a beautifull mantra song that called in the biggest spirit of all, the King of Kings, the core of all, from where we all have come from. The energy was so intense, I became frightened when my shadow self apeared in the mirror before me, that part of myself that can hurt, rape, and do any number of horrible things was looking back at me. With my mantra, I was able to see this dark part of myself as a merely a simptom of something deeper and more profound, an emotional part of myself that is in need of love. with the help of the mantra, I was able to poor healing love into every dark corner of my being, and the dark spirits whom had become interested in what we were doing, healing them and myslelf. I have allways used dance as my main mantra, but discovering a vocal mantra has opened up a new level of love and understanding. A mantra is more a feeling expressed in a word that caries all the love one has for god. By saying the mantra over and over, ones love grows, and as a result god is better able to work its healing. A mantra can be a lighthouse, a beekon of light that can guide us through stormy sea's. I truly important tool, and incredibly primordial and ancient. Since I discovered my verbal mantra, I have realised that we see mantra's used in nature all the time. Roosters and song birds, cayote, and wolf to name a few, sing their devotional mantra of love to source.
We discovered similarities between Arabic mantra, native american mantra and javanese mantra and the ancient mantra of the jewish people. Seeing the similarities in the name of source made me realize that this information must be getting passed to people straight from source and not through the dogma of realigion.
I also experienced something that I had never experienced at such a deep level; my friend Johari and myself went out into the front yard and in complete darkness(no moon dew to clouds) we flow spared with staffs and open hands. Unable to see each other on the light spectrum we closed our eyes and were able to feel each on an energy spectrum, with eyes closed we battled full speed, slashing and jabbing hard heavy staffs at each other in perfect flow. It was incredible, we new what the other was going to do before it happened, I could tell from the living energy that swirled in detailed paterns around us. Bali is full of strong spirits, the people here reconize and honor them with altars and offerings all over the place. Many spirits became interested in our dance, and came into the circle to flow in and out of our movements, an extrodinary experience indeed. I feel so humbly blessed to have been gifted this awareness opening experience.
My plans right now are to stay in Bali for a 1-2 more weeks, untill manufacturing of goods is finished. I miss my family and friends deeply and am startign to feel a strong need to go home. I love you with all my being.

Greetings loved ones, I have arrived in beautifull Bali and am happily kickin it in the magical town of Ubud, I am currently staying at the Sagitarious Guest house on monkey forest road. I highly recomend it as a great landing pad as the people working there are incredibly nice and the scenery is amazingly beautifull and affordable, about 10 dollars a night with breakfast and pool with godess mermaid statues with fountains of water spurting forth, into the pool, from their full luscious breasts. I will stay at Sagitarius for a couple more days before renting a house with a kitchen.
It was a long plane ride over, about 20 hours. Upon arriving I emediately have connected in with friends Isacc and Jesica, Jon Safay and many more... It has been wonderfull seeing friends whom I met here last year. My first morning here, Jon and I did a 2 hour yoga session before going around and exploring. For those of you whom have never been to Bali, know that it is one of the most beautifull places on the planet from both a scenic view as well as esthetic and cultural stand point. Every where one goes, one finds the most beautifull art and landscaping, temples are built with every home, there is very little garbage on the streets and I feel more safe here than in the United states. The bombing that occured last year occured far from where I live, unfortunately for the Balinese, there are very few tourists now because of negative publicity from western media. Know that it is very safe to travel here and Forest creature wants you to come out and join him. :) Bali has changed my life in extrodinary ways and I am looking foreward to her revealing more of her wisdom to me this journey. Loving you beyond measure. Forest

Hey friends, I am now back in the stinky city of Bankok after a super intense release from Bali, I don't think the island wanted me to leave. I spent the weekend in Singapore with some awesome new/old friends. What an interesting city Singapore is. It is what George Bush would like to see the States to be in a few years. Everything is super clean and sterilized. Safety is #1 in Singapore, that means no risks, no acting out of the normal form, very little creative expression. I stood out like a big fiery ball of creative extremity, freaked a few people out and had a great time doing it too. My friends took me out clubbing on Saterday night, we went to 5 super stylin clubs, expensive lighting effects and sound system's. We had a great time dancing. It is a funny thing, most people in Singapore dont not make eye contact, they are too guarded and reserved. If you cut a shortcut on a designated path it kind of freaks some of them out. I could really see a 'Brave New World' at work, based on absolute mind controled fear. It was really not so bad, lots of tree's and I met some really wonderfull people, had a great time on Sunday dancing on this large man made beach. I wish I had more time to reflect in more detail but I gotsa go...
Loving you.

Hello,
I have been in a nice flow here in Ubud. Been very busy the last two weeks
working on designs and business, coming back too exausted to e-mail. I also
organized a fire show on Friday for full moon at a newly opened place called
Coffee and Silver on the bottom of monkey forest road. It went ok, the event
was not very well organized and my body has been going through some healing so
I have not felt as with it as normal. The next day, Saturday, I got together
with Leonid a master healer and we did some serious cranial sacral healing work on my neck, back and right
shoulder. My neck and spine have some pretty intense compression damage from hitting my head in the swimming pool.
Leonid helped diognose and then really worked through some energetic layers.
Since the healing I have felt much better. That night Jill, my accentric creative landlord, and I hosted a
large full-moon party that really went off. It was an interesting mix of Jill
and I's friends. We set up a cocktail bar on the deck by the swimming pool
with turntables and a sound system. I set up a supper Shanti space in the
bottom of the tower where we had an epic music dance jam. It was interesting to
see how only people who were really foccused and creative could handle being in
the intense energy of the tower, i wish you could see this building, it is amazing. I have some real power pieces that I had bought in Tampak Sereen that
really held the sacred space. At the peak of the night we all went to the back
yard and spun fire with a great drumming ensemble. I had a great release under
the devine light of the full moon. My neck and back is feeling much better and
is improving each day. Sunday I went to this amazing bird zoo/park where I
fell in love with this amazing parot whom I hung out with for an hour. At one
point I had two Macha's, an exotic type of stork, and two other types of parots
on me all at once. I really wish I had brought a camera.
Sasha Butterfly whom is true ray of light, left
this last week. We had a very nice friendship connection before she left. One
night after a day of super intense business shopping, I went by this healer woman's place. After a delicious dinner, the healer and her
two assistance gave me the royal herbal rub down massage while Sasha sang heart
songs. Having 4 amazing Goddesses nurture me at once was really healing.
I have been keeping myself super busy so that I
don't have time to miss my friends and family. I have been thinking about Jemini quite a bit, with no real
clarity yet. It is something that cannot be rushed and will open up as my
spiritual developement grows. Everyday I am learning more and more on how to
take the spiritual wisdom that I have been blessed with and how to apply that
knowledge into the pressent, application. I have been making some wonderfull
friendships with both men and women, not looking to 'hook up' has allowed for
some really nice friendships to develope. I am helping finance my friend
Justine's(who is extended family of Wild Fire) environmental, education project
teaching young Balinese to turn beer bottles and other glass into beautifull
functional art instalations like tiles and decorative table tops. I have only given her a couple hundred dollars in exchange for some really cool glass projects she will send me. She also is a highly responsible persom whom can act as my Bali rep while I am in the states. If I get a big order for one of the new products she can recieve funds, make orders and facilitate shipments. I am havingher make me a special pyramid with 5 pyramids inside each rotated 30 degree's
to form an intricate merkaba within. Leonid has one, that really inspired me.
I have been enjoying having the tower all to myself, Jill dropped the price to
$350 per month to help. It has allowed me to really stay foccused on the
projects that I am working on. I am realizing that I don't want to get too
envolved with importing, my best asset is my fire dancing, I am really enjoying
the creative process of coming up with design's, I have an infinite supply of
awesome idea's that could be very successfull. The shoe's have been a good
teacher in how to refine a design, getting just right. I look foreward to
showing you them. Also I had silver and
gold dragons put on my fire staff's, and am having a couple more carved from
wood. Having some new designs made for tribal earing's that will take it to
the next level. :) I feel like I am learning so much about how to be a good designer, in alot of ways this is my next level of education and i feel will help create some freeedome in the future. I am staying in Bali till May 10th to take care
of shipping as some order's may run late, plus I bought some intricately carved
mamoth ivory that may be dificult to ship, it would be pretty cryptically funny
if I got arrested when I got back in the states for importing illegal ivory. I
am getting paperwork on all the carving's declaring it to be what its suposed to
be, mamoth. It is definately a interesting process. I am getting pretty home sick, though I still have quite a bit to do before I return, hoping to come home earlier than planned, we will see.
The other night there was a special event in Ubud, several thousand people from surrounding towns came for this ritualistic death ceremony. It was a time for people choose between white magic and black magic. Very interesting seeing this process though I did not full understand the details. At around 1;00 am everyone headed out to the local cemetary for more rituals. On my way there I came accross around 156 balinese on the road gathered around a 4 meter long Boa Snake who's head had just been run over, it was rything around in the middle of the road, mortally wounded. I was greatly saddened, wanting to help ease this beautifull creature suffering, I picked it up and carried it off the road, where I prayed for its spirit to release into the loving embrace of the afterlife. I then rapped it in my raincoat and took it home. Once home I smudged it with incense and prayers, and began the arjuous process of gutting it. It's amazing, even with its head completely smashed it was still allive, I found it's heart still beating with power. I cutt out its heart, feeling its last two beats in my mouth, I ate it raw, calling in this creatures amazing strength, letting it know that it's wisdom and life force was going to continue, through me. I needed its strength, for I worked intensly all night treating this amazing creatures beautifull skin. So much work. My cooler is full of the delicious though tough meat, it's unique sweet flavor is like a cross between abilone and chicken. Quite an interesting adventure, how many people get to eat a large Boa?

I love you
Forest

Hungry demons to feed...

So i am actually starting to get a little home sick, especially when i get such sweet reminders from the people I love that they are thinking of me.
For the last week I have been doing business shopping in Simiak, Bali. I will be returning with some amazing imports to share with you all. Now I am glad to be back in the calm quiet, beautifull home away from home Ubud. The film crew has been rapidly dwindling with each passing day. I have decided to start several projects when I get back. The first goal is to make a video that will win the Home of Poi video contest, the second project will be a proper promo video that will be off the hizzie! the third goal is to create a short movie telling some kind of story, I am still forming what it will be about but have some good idea's floating around in my brain. I am excited to work with such amazing people on this project and believe it will be a catalist for taking my fire dancing to the next level, into movie's. :)
Now that I am done with the filming and most of my business shopping I am excited to emerse myself more thouroughly into this amazing place that I find myself. Bali is unlike anyplace I have ever been. I find myself become numb to all the extrodinary art here. Everywhere I go i find masterfull temples with intricate carvings and paintings of dieties that look more like strange elien life form that one meets in a psychedelic trance than any creature of this dimension. The energy here is magical, one really feels the spirits of this land. The Balinese people make offerings everyday, up to five times a day to the various dieties that embody atributes of of the one whole God. I am learning alot here, alot on how to ground my energy to use more effeciantly and with clear intentions. It is a combination of having a clear vission as to what I want to manifest while not holding onto attachment to it, allowing the manifestation to have its own life. I have been learning alot about how to make friends with my dark side, with the demons that will allways dwell within me. I realize now that they will allways be there, like a rude neighbor whom cannot be avoided, I cannot struggle with these demons in ways that deny there existence, if they are to exist within me then I might as well make friends with them so that we might live in harmony together. My friend Ben has taught me an amazingly empowering thing that one can do to help appease all those insecurity's, rage, anger, fears... These manifested demons will surface over and over again in uncontrolable and damaging ways if they are left unreconized and unwelcomed in your heart. They have a hunger and must be fed, by making an offering to our demon's, calling them forth and feeding them with the one thing that we have an infinite supply of, for their hunger can be huge, feed them your love and even the most fierce demon's appitite will be filled, for the Demon is you and you crave your own love. This is an amazing, empowering ritual that I hope will help you as it has me.
I have three more weeks in Bali before I head back to Thailand to do more business shopping. Know that you are in my daily prayers and that I love you.

Bali new year with UFO's and other groovy things...

I am having an amazing time in Bali working on a movie and music video with about 50 friends from the west coast. Celebrated the Bali new year yesterday, they have a very interesting custom, for new years eve they build a bunch of elabrate sculptures of various Demon's simbolizing aspects of the themselfs that they want to let go. Groups of 20-100 people parade through town careying these large statues with balinese gamalon orchestra marching band. They eventually meet up with all the other demons of the village, often times in a rather agressive competitive way, in the past there were large spread fights that broke out between rival demon troupes. They then burn the demons in a frenzy of trance dance. Very elabrate and wild scene to behold, though I was unable to find the place where they burned the demons because they were keeping it a secret do to the ilegalization of the event do to fighting in previous years. It was still very cool to see 30 foot tall nicotine demon being paraded around. The first day of the new year is a day of absolute silence where the entire island of Bali shuts off electricity and stays indoors. It is believed that the first day of the new year which is also a new moon is a day when certain demons fly over Bali and the idea is to not draw these demons attention to the island so that they just pass over. Sounds suspiciously like UFO activity from the past. Jemini myself and friends Amae and Jason that night saw in the sky a very bright twinkling light that was moving in a strange patern, it was in the sky for a couple of hours before disapearing over the horizon. It could not have been a plane or a star or a satalite, definately left us all scratching our heads.
We are all getting ready to go to this small island where we will do some filming and do some scuba diving and fire dancing for kicks. Our whole posse will pretty much take over an entire island. I am pretty excited to be swimming in the creatively furtile sea's of a tropical paradise island in indonesia.
I am planning on staying in Bali for another month and half before going back to Thailand to do some business shopping. I have been picking up all kinds of amazing imports, so be sure to look me up when I return to get first dibs on these amazing goods from the master craftsmen of Bali.
Lotsa love, Forest.

I don't know how to forward Events from one tribe to another... but y'all should come to this -- this is the event that was at Pismo last year.

Roger

----------
Date & Time: Friday, April 15 2005 - Sunday, April 17 2005
12:00 AM
FireDrums Gathering
Friday, April 15 2005 - Sunday, April 17 2005
Red White & Blue Beach (near Santa Cruz)
http://firedrums.tribe.net/

A fire arts and hand drummers gathering.
Last year we met at Pismo Beach (Central California) and people from all over showed up for a really fun weekend of both fire spinning and tribal drumming.
There were some amazing and excellent fire artists from all over and this year looks like there?ll be even more talent and more fun new faces for everyone to meet, learn and share moves.

Nick Woolsey will be back down with us again and BTW, he's traveling to several locations in California along with his partner Andy teaching poi workshops just prior to RW&B.
Their classes are as good as it gets.
Check them out @ http://www.playpoi.com/ & http://www.thevenue.org/

For those who haven?t yet experienced Red White and Blue Beach, it?s a beautiful private, clothing optional beach just north of Santa Cruz California.
RW&B is fire friendly and yes that?s right , you can spin naked , if you?re that confident.
There are several areas for camping, beach side or back in ? the Jungle? and there are hot showers.

It?s easy access from Cabrillo Hwy (just off US Hwy 1) with airports less than an hour away in San Jose and Monterey.
Santa Cruz is only 10 minutes away if you're in need of food, supplies and lodging (if you're not into the 'camping thing').

We also have several DJ?s this time to add some music to the mix.
Although we'll certainly be dancing and playing with our friends, please be aware that this is NOT A RAVE or dance party, so please keep this in mind when forwarding this to others.

As RW&B is a privately owned camp ground, the fees are a bit more than some other public places, but as everyone who's experienced it will tell you, it's well the $18 to have our own fire and music friendly, clothing optional playground in an amazing beach side setting.

Please join the FireDrums tribe firedrums.tribe.net/ to post
questions, suggestions, ride share info and anything else.
This is not a 'festival' nor is it a BurningMan sponsored event.
This is of course, a LEAVE NO TRACE GATHERING!

As for us SoCal peeps, if there's enough interest, I'm looking into
chartering a bus.
Carpooling is obviously highly recommended from wherever you're coming.
Ride share threads are on the FireDrums tribe for East Bay, SF,
Central CA, LA and SoCal, but feel free to start new posts from other areas for ride share as well as any other topics.

For more details about Red White and Blue Beach (location, direction,
camping and day use fees, etc.) go to http://redwhiteandbluebeach.com/

Come to Bali!!!

The Last three days here in Ubud, Bali have been amazing. This area is a
cultural hub for Indonesia. Everywhere I go are the most amazing temples and
shrines. You cannot go anywhere and not find art. Incredibly detailed
sculptures depicting God's, mythical creatures, terrorifying demons, and of
course nature. Many of the sculptures are ancient with tree's growing on them,
covered with moss and ferns. The building here resemble a fussion of Aztecian
art designs with destinctly asian roof structure.
I have started taking dance classes after seeing the amazing Balinese dances.
It is like watching living scultures the way the dancers move and the
incredibly detailed costumes and intricate eye and hand movements combined with
precise footwork. I am very inspired right now. I am working on manifesting
several full costumes so that I will be able to put together some performances
when I return. The live Gamalon music that is played with the dance is
entrancing, weaving a hypnotic spell that guides ones consciousness into the
realms of the local Gods and Godesses and Demon's. After one of the dance shows
I stuck around to meet some of the performers and to share what I do with the
mouth harp, staff and poi. They loved it, asking many questions. One of the
dancers, a 50+ year old stone carver named Kelinced whom had been dancing and
playing music
since he was 10, stood out as soon as we made eye contact I felt a kinship.
Since then he has been teaching me dance and I have been teaching him Yoga and
doing healing work on him. As it turns out, he is a bit of a celebrity in all
the local towns and is sometimes asked to clear curses and bad energy from
people. He is a magician when he carves, bringing a cement blocks to life. All
the carvers have serious rist and back problems from so much repetative
intensive work. I hope that the rist stretches that have helped me so much to
avoid injury will spread throughout the village. Kilenced has been
teaching me from his home which is located up in the mountains where thousands
of white egrets come to nest. They have been protected in that area since, way
back and therefore have no fear of people.
The people here do rituals and make
offerings to the various emobodiment of Shiva on a daily basis. One must
allways be mindfull while going about the days activities not to step on one of
the many banana leaf offering plates that contain rice, flowers and sometimes
coins. The people are extremely kind, excepting, humble and talented.
I don't think most people in the States realize just how affordable things are
in a place like Bali, I am staying at a very nice guest house/hotel with
beautiful art everywhere, an elaberate temple within the guest house, one of
the nicest swimming pools I have ever seen with a beautifully carved mermaid
goddess fountain with water streaming from her full breasts into the pool. Our
room is privately set next to a forested area where exotic birds come in to
roost every evening. The grounds are beautifully ladscaped full of exotic
plants and ponds. We are paying only $10 a night, we could have found a cheap
place for around $2 if we had wanted. It is overwhelming th amount of amazing
art, clothing, jewelry, textiles, carvings... that are for sale for a fraction
of there value in the states.
Right now an amazing thing is happening, around 30 amazing friends from the west
coast, musicians, healers, fire dancers and incredible artists have all gathered
here in Ubud. Some of the names you may reconize:
Sasha Butterfly, Nikila of Hamsa Lilla, Budah Monkey, Phoenix Rising(Issak and Jesica), Bobcat and Daisy, Phoebe, Abai of Kumbaka, the amazing vissionary artists, Luke Brown and Carey Thomas who's work you can see in my tribe profile. This just naming a few of the extrodinary people who are here or ariving shortly.

For the next two months we will be doing rituals and individuals are working
with local artisans to produce designs for various products that individuals wish tosell in the states. There is this wonderfull collective unity omongst us tohelp one another manifest our dreams, creativly suporting our inspirations. It is a really extrodinary thing that is happening here, to have so many close friends all gathered half way across the world at one of the worlds energy hot spots. If it is at all possible for you to come in the next two months, I highly recomend it, you will have an amazing experience.
Come join me and the other monkeys in Bali.
Loving you.
Forest

Hi Forest and Jemini!

If you guys are back in the US by April 15-17, please come to the FireDrums gathering (I think of it as Pismo II), which will be at RWB this year. Your presence last year was phenomenal... though maybe this year you will be around in the day time to share as well -- we will no doubt have some great spinners visiting from out of town.

See Sky's listings in many other fire-related tribes for more information... I think the FireDrums tribe is the main place for discussion.

I am interested in joining your tribe

My handle is agni, my name is scott, our troop name is agnisattva(agni is sanskrit for fire, sattva is sanskrit for essence). I spin staves, poi, whip, juggle a little and use an array of other as yet unnamed implements created in the metal shop I am working in. I travel alot and spin whenever/wherever I can. as of this moment I am planning an open ended fire tour into central/south america in an old school bus with 3 other fire junkies. One of my own projects is organizing a database of the u.s. and north/central/south america which will allow an individual to research the laws and requirements of each region, and provide contact information for other artists, officials, events, organizations, supplies, etc...

Any suggestions to make it more benificial to the community is appreciated.
Any information you would like to contribute would also be appreciated.

I would like to eventually teach classes on the art, sciences, history and spirituality of fire dancing as I believe they all play a large part in the connection between the human conscience/subconscience and the use of fire as a form of individual expression/reflection.
Until next time,
May all your burns inspire awe in yourself.

Indonesia...

Welcome from Gili Trawa, a tiny Island in Indonesia with amazing snorkeling and
diving. Jemini and myself have been having a wonderfull time meeting some of
the locals playing music and exploring this tiny Island. We are going to stay
here for about a week before heading back to Bali to meet up with a bunch of
friends from the West Coast in the mountain town of Ubud. We will be meeting
up with some amazing people, musicians, fire performers and circus freaks, a
total of around twenty magically freaky creatures to dance in the essence of
sacred Bali.
There is much poverty here in Bali, so much of the economy is based on tourism
but there only a few tourists. Unfortunately many of the Indonesian people
become desperate to have money for their family and have taken up trying to
force tourists to buy with agressive sales tactics that end up making a bad
situation worse. There seem to be a lack of creativity and inginuity for
coming up
with inovative ways to make money here. What we see is hundreds of people all
trying to sell the same crap to the hundred or so tourists that are in town.
Of course non of the indonesian make any money so they get more desperate and
try to sell harder. Its a stupid cycle, I see so many ways to make money here
but the people are too locked into old paterns to see it themselves.
While in Kuta, a particularly unpleasant tourist trap town, we went and saw a
dance caberet show at the top club, it boasted the best lighting system in
Indonesia which was impressive, the dancing was very impressive too, for
caberet dancing, they were really good. The club had about 5 people doing the
job that took one but I could see that they were providing as many jobs as
posible which is cool. We had a funny moment when we decided to explore the
club and went upstairs to the 'Kareoke' room to find ourselves in a large room
full of 30 or more beautifull indonesian women dressed to the hilt, we could
only guess what was going on in that room... You should have seen Jemini's
face when we first walked in. :)
We were happy to leave Kuta the next morning taking a flight to Lombok Island
where we charted a private taxi through the moountains, seeing monkeys on the
side of the road waiting for peole to give them food because the fruit trees
that they used to feed from were cut down for building material. Fortunately
the government has made laws preventing future cutting of tree's without a
permit. It was a very beautifull drive through the mountains after which we
took a private boat over to Gigi island. The people here are super sweet once
they get over trying to sell you something. Every where we go on the island the locals are playing music, guitar drums and didgerdoo are the local favorite. We have had several lovely music jams. The people here are especially fasinated with the mouth harps that I play, most have never seen metal mouth harps, traditianal Indonesian Harps are made of bamboo.
We went snorkeling today and say many beautifull fish in the reef that surounds this island. We even saw a sea turtle gracefully swimming through crystal clear waters the temperature of bath water. I love you all and will let you know of future adventures as they develope. Love, Forest

Nasu Dyami

Hi all,

Many of you already know - Nasu drowned Sat morning while bodysurfing at Ocean Beach in SF. Below is the latest update from Phoenix (his girlfriend) on memorial info. Feel free to contact me directly for any additonal info. I will post here once plans are more certain.

~M~

I know that many of you are waiting for info on
memorials, etc. I will tell you what I know.

I know that his body is to be released in the next 24
hours and then he will go to a mortuary. A few of us
will see him one last time. I think this is going to
be only me and his parents. There will be no formal
showing if I can help it. His body will then be set
aflame and that's that.

Any memorial services that will be held will be at our
house in Outer Sunset (or on the beach nearby). I
know that he would prefer to have everything low key.
I have no dates yet planned, but I'm sure there will
be a few.

So if you are traveling this way, know that there are
many places for you to stay. Please come whenever, as
there are people traveling in from out of town as late
as next month. Even though there is no "formal
service" I would love for people to come out.

Please pass this letter on to other lists and to
Nasu's friends not on this list. I have only posted
here.

If anyone knows of, or can help me find a reputable
mortuary in San Francisco (that's a little less
christian) I really need to find one by tonight.
Please help if you can. That is one of the main
things I need right now.

I am so thankful of your support. Without it I don't
know what condition I'd be in. At least now I can
focus on breathing and trying to walk.

love and light,
bali sun in ubud

hello lovelies,

hello from warm tropical bali! forest and i are here, experiencing the humid wheather as it's the hot time of the year here. we're staying in quite the swanky hotel for less then 10 bucks a night, including breakfeast! it's beautiful here in ubud, a lovely mountain town. there is a whole crew from the bay area visiting, we are hoping to meet up with some of the crew today and play.

it's been a wonderful trip so far except earlier this week... driving around the island of lombok in an old rented toyota. oil leak, no shocks, making strange sounds...car accicent...forest misjudged the width of the car and smashed the passanger side door. no one hurt but only $425 bucks later of damages...ow!! the drivers side is on the oposite side driving on the left side of the road. it was like a crazy vidieo game dodging, people walking and sitting on the road, dogs sleeping on the road, cows, geese, chickens, kittens, goats, sheep, bikes, motor bikes, cars, hudge trucks, horse carts and small children...all traveling at different speeds and different directions! i was actually fearing my life!!! really i got scared. all these different variables on a windy one lane road...with pot holes and ditches to the side and small bridges. we had to slam on breaks, swirve an jump off the road several times to just avoid hitting or getting hit! then as we stayed the night in the capital city of mataram there was a peepomg tom trying to check me out as i was drying off from a shower. loser!! had to report him to the hotel, they scared him off.

earlier though we explored lombok with some friends and they took us up on top of a mountain to some beautifull waterfalls. one was a short hike from the bungalows that we were staying at and the other we hiked through the river, over rocks and fallen trees through the jungle. super amazing experience and the pay off was a hudge waterfall in a large gully! we did have a good time in lombok, expecially the gili trawangan island! really friendly people, we felt genuinely welcome there. we stayed with a nice muslin family, they had beautiful well kept bungalows called "'Warna" for less than 6 bucks a night breakfest included. there were wonderful beach resturaunts some with asian huts on the beach and others open two story palapa huts all with low asian tables and cusiuns. we got to splurge on sushi too! the island is small enough that you can walk around it in a couple of hours. there are no cars or motor bikes. only horse carts and bicycles...no traffic. so chill. at night lot's of people make music jams in the streets, we got to share music and song with many of the locals. there is a central area along the beach that has large bars and clubs, so you can get your groove on if you like cluby house music. not our thing, though we mad a nice fire show on the street in front of one of the clubs for valentine's day.

i highly recommend this island and the surrounding two other islands. winter is the chill time, not many tourists time of year with cheap prices! the snorkeling was really amazing, just right outside of our bungalows was the best area on the island. we also charted a privat tour with a friends boat and visited the reefs on the other islands too.

now, were safe in a chill mountain town, absolutely gorgeous here. so much art and craft here....it's truely beautiful...temples and architecture.

love, jemini

Fear of death is fear of being allive, the more I open myself up to absolute trust in my purpose, to love all that life has to offer me and to egnite as many others with the fires of our collective core loving selfs shining forth through creative freedome and absorbsion into natures devine rythm. We are nature, the more I surrender, emersing myself into natures rythm, the more life works with me rather than against me. The only choice is to surrender into the moment, applying intention with no judgement or expectation of precise results. I feel such a psychic string with you all the gallactivated light workers all over the world. We are the cariers of this gallactivation, liquid fire mantra of fearless passionate love of all of existence; even the perseved negative experiences have the important purpose of teaching and challenging our conviction in our mission of spreading freedome and love through the arts to the world.
I have just left one of the most beautifull places in the world, the beaches fo Ko Phagnan have profoundly changed me, healing and strengthening both my body and soul. I came to these beaches when there was very little going on, people laying around sunning themselves and chilling out. Myslef as a catalist of networking our collective energy of an amazing collection of belly dancer, gymnist, musicians and dancers formed, all moving there body's in the eccstacy of life and singing there heart song. Such magical chemistry to have the perfect mix if people gathered in one very special spot from Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Autria, England, Spain, Brazil, Holand, and many other places. I recomend everyone to go to these beaches, it will change your life.
Now I am waiting for a plane to take me to Bangkok where I will catch another plane to Singapore that will take me to my destination, joining the powerfully inspiring Jemini creature. Will explore Bali together, joining up a number of friends who are filming an indipendent movie, filming a music video and doing their gallactivation work. I will miss Ko Phagnan's perfection, I am excited to explore a new country and meet up with such an amazing group of friends. Jemeni and myself will travel together for the month, learning from each other through the trancformation, what ever it may be, of our relationship. I am meeting up with her having let go of preconceved ideas of who she is and all other negetative attachments to past paterns, reconizing the present as the only true reality. I am an open vessel to this new experience however it manifests.
May your core self be your guide in your paths of finding more and more ways to love life.
Loving you, Forest

Sooooo, I have had quite the adventure lately. After spending the last few days
relatively chill, doing yoga, practicing fire arts and socializing with an aray
of wonderfull world travelers. This sunday I decided to go camping by myself
way in the jungle to experience some of the raw nature that this amazing island
has to offer. I am used to camping with poisonous creatures coming from a
background in New Mexico and Sadona Arazona so was not overly concerned about
the critters, plus I had a tent. Just watch where you step, check shoes before
putting them on, you know the drill... Well I hiked way up a stream through
amazing jungle with vines beautiful butterfly's and awe inspiring rock
formations unlike any I have seen elsewhere. I found a good spot to camp so I
set my bag down grabbed my flashlite and a pocket knife and hiked up a steep
ridge that would take me to the top of the mountain where I could see the sun
set from the other side of the island than I had been staying. I should have
heeded the warning when I saw a highly agressive and venomous 15 inch red
centapede at the bass of the ridge that I was to hike up. Allas I can be a bit
bull head some times, I was too much looking foreward to seeing the exotic birds
come in to nest at sunset at the top. I hiked for around 2 hours without a
trail through jungle coming across massive boulders covered in vines and ferns,
so magical. The further up I went the more extraordinary things became until I
made it to the top of the hill where I was blessed with a symphony of jungle
music that took my breath away, I have never heard a jungle sound like this, it
was so full of diferent sounds that all pullsated hypnoticaly in rythm, I was
entranced. Beautifull birds that I have never seen before were flying above me
by the hundreds, coming to roost for the night, there songs mixed with the
intense harmonix of the insects luring me into entranced stupor, amazed by
nature. I found a huge mother tree and leaned against it, feeling its energy
currents pulling energy up into the sky. I heard a noise and looked nearby
where a mongoose like animal had appeared and was looking at me with the most
curious look, I could tell it had never seen or smelled a human before, this
place was so remote, I don't think more than six people have been in the last
200 years. I got my camera out to take a picture of the mongoose but I spooked
it when it saw the camera. I turned around and gave the mother tree a big hugg,
but decided to pull my arms back close to where I could see the bark on the
tree, you never know where a spider or scorpion might be... at this point I
felt the energy change around and I sensed danger, the mongoose made noise
behind me that reinforced my sense of danger. I turned around to see what was
going on, I did not see the mongoose but just to my left about 6 feet away i
sudenly became aware of something that I will never forget in vivid detail, a
huge King Cobra coiled into a tight energy ball ready to explode in my
direction. Its hood was closed for it only uses its hood when it is
threatened, it was in hunt mode and had noticed me and had crept up to where it
could strike me, I was either a threat being in its territory or its eyes were
bigger than its belly and thought me to be a big monkey. I still had the
camera in my hand and with a shaking hand slowly raised it up and took its
picture after which it realised that its cover was blown and that I was on to
it. As soon as it realised this it lunged toward me, extended out its full 12+
feet. I was sudenly staring into its mouth, dagger sized fangs full extended
aimed for my soft supple self. I was standing on a large log about four feet
from the ground, the cobra was at the same level as I. I leaped from the log
to another log nearby but over leaped and fell catching myself with my arms but
had avoided the inititial strike, the cobra was still going after me, and it was
fast, I pushed of the second log not having time to see where I was leaping,
slammed into a large rotten stump which I exploded through, I had dropped my
camera on my first leap and fortunately it had landed just next to me and I was
able to grab it as I scrambled out of harms way. The cobra was so well
camoflouged that I could not tell where it was and after a short discussion
with myself about going back to look for it and perhaps getting another
picture, I decided I better get the hell out of there, it was way too agressive
and fast for me to safely check it out. I was shaking all over and I realized
with dread that I was in trouble, the sun was just sinking behind the horizon
(feeding time fore allmost all poisonous creatures, I was deep in cobra country
in dense jungle with no trail and I had at least one and half hour hike to get
back to my camp site. If I got bitten, I would not survive, it takes only
about one hour for a cobra's venom to kill, it digests the insides of a person,
one of the most painful ways a person could die. I proceeded head back down the
hill the way I had come, just before I started to head down the route I froze,
right over the place where I was about to walk was a large green highly
venomous tree snake, lying in stealth waiting for me to pass beneath it where
it could easily strike me. I took several quick photos of it, worried the
whole time that the cobra was going to creep up behind me.
Hiking back down was one of the scariest things I have ever experienced, all
around me were vines and leaves, rocks all prime cobra turain. I found a stick
that I might be able to defend myself with and worked my way down, everything
looked like a snake, I was really spooked. I quickly found the turain to be as
dangerous as any of the snakes, with suden rock drop offs, thorny branches and
steep rock slide areas. It took all my Jedi skills to make back to my camp
site, exhuasted I quickly built a fire knowing that it would keep any snakes
away. On the way down I had notices that the veins on my left arm were burnign
like they had poison in them, I had not time to check my arm but now back at
camp I checked, finding nothing wrong, I realised that it was the same arm that
would have been bit by the cobra and some how I was feeling the phantom poison,
perhaps like how Muhamad Alli the boxer knocked out one of his apponents without
even striking him. I massaged thearm and it felt better. I took the aprotunity
to visualized that I had gotten bit and was preparing to die, it was hard and I
realize tha I still need more work on it but I was somewhat able to surrender
into death. This camping trip was intended to be a bit of a sollo vission
quest, I feel that I was sent some pretty strong medicine, I will be processing
this experience for some time. I have a much greater understanding of the
jungle and its creatures now. I was nieve to go into an area that I was not
familiar, with so much confidence. I have known what it feels like to be
hunted by an animal that had a big advantage over me. I feel that the energy
of the Island had lured me to that mountain top challenge and teach me. I was
glad that I had brought a tent and after doing some yoga and giving myself a
massage, I tried to sleep but had a difficult time, the image of the King Cobra
staring so intensly into me, with the sole intent to kill haunted me all night.
A big part of this trip has been about overcoming my fears and surrendering
myself into the natural rythm that spirit has layed out before. This was an
amazing challenge to my basic self, really teaching me so much about how I work
under life and death situations.
On a diferent note, the tsunami situation in Thailand is, things are fine hear,
other than tourism being a down, the country and moral is high. People are
allready going vacationing in the areas that were hit. When I first arrived in
Bankok, I ran into several travelers who had allmost died in the Tsunami, that had some pretty good stories, as you can imagine.
I love you all and am very glad to still be around on this physical realm.

Thailand in March?

Hello,

I'm new to this tribe but I have been hearing about the fire gathering in Thailand for sometime. I realize that it is probably coming to a close. I was *this close* to attending but I decided to wait a bit to travel. So I will be in Thailand from March -April. It would be a great joy to me to join up with other dancers for some fire-spinning on the beach. Reach out and touch me if you share this interest or have some info on the happenings out there. BTW, Forrest, your posts have been remarkably informative.

with flames of joy,
Heather

January fourth I went to the Medford airport where they proceeded to do the most extreme security check ever done on me. They went through every nook and orifice of my luggage. I did not feel too singled out though for they were going through this 75 year old born again christiains stuff with nearly as much zeal. After the profain security check this geazer handed me a panflet on christ and how to be fearfull of God. After reading this crap I unleashed upon the fearfull man my resentment that people like himself and George Bush are warping christs teachings of unconditional love to warant going on a killing spree, killing thousands in Gods name. Needless to say I freaked the fool out a bit so it brought a great amount of laughter to myself and several people whom had witnessed our interaction when we discovered that we had been assigned seats next to each other. :) Gramps managed to wiezel ihis way out of being my bunk buddy by begging the stuardess to be assigned seperate seats. Of course I ended up sitting next to cute girl whom we had much fun passing the flight with interesting conversation and mild flirtation. I had a great visit with some friends in LA before leaving the next morning for Thailand. It is a funny thing but for my flight to Saibing China i ended up sitting next to the only cutie on the hole plain and then again on my flight from Saibing to Bangkok i was assigned to sit next to this lovely canadian girl who is teaching english in Bangkok. I am not looking to hook up with anyone right now, still being pressent with Jemini emotions, but it is kind of funny how spirit has a way of teasing me. I have arrived in bankok after a 18 hour flight, thats a long time to be trapped inside a giant flying cigar canister. It is good to have my feet back on earth. After a profoundly peacefull tailgaiting speedy taxi ride from the airport, I found a cheap room at the...

Hi, I am on the beautifull beaches of Ko Pha Ngan on the beaches of Had Yien, Had Yuan and Wai Nam. I have been teaching poi and staff classes to some of the enthusiastic world travelers who are kickin it here. Yesterday I made 2000 Bat, around $80 USD, thats enough to pay for the next 3-4 days here. Perhaps I will stay forever teaching and dancing in paradise... :) Dont worry I will eventually grow tired of Papaya smoothies and fresh fish and want to return to my other paradise where so many of the people I love are. I am going to stay on this Island till full moon, January 24th after I will head south to meet some friends in Bali.
The Tsunami has not effected this part fo Thailand hardly at all, the main difference is there are a lot less people than normal. The area that was hit has been incouraging tourists to come, they have allready cleaned up most of the rubble. Thailand did not get hit too hard. I have ran into a number of tourists who were hit by the tsunami and were were leaving from bankok to recover from their vacation, they all were in good spirits though a little shakin up. The Thai people have been very positive, it was a very small part of Thailand that was badly damaged.

Know that you are in my daily prayers. Loving you. Forest

The scene on Ko Pha Ngan

Fellow fire freaks,

I have arrived on Ko Pha Ngan and am staying on the lovely and slighly magical beach of Had Thian. The scene is good, friendly and relaxed. There is no need for anyone to change their plans. The tsunami destruction has been overstated in the Western media -- not in terms of the number of deaths, but on the impact on tourism. But Thailand needs more tourists to come now and keep the economy going. So come here and prepare to enter an alternative reality.

The beaches of Had Thian and Had Why Nam are super chill with great food, massages, yoga, a few fire spinners, spa treatments, and quaint bungalows. This is place where people get stuck and deeply unwind. Accommodation availability is a bit tight but I managed to find a bungalow after a bit of searching for 200 Baht ($5) and more spaces may open up in the coming days. The best places near the restaurants tend to be full but it is possible to find nice huts within a few minute walk of the central areas.

To get to Had Thian, catch a boat from Ko Samui or Surat Thani (on the mainland) to the Ko Pha Ngan destinations of either Thong Sala (main ferry pier) or Had Rin. It is better to go directly to Had Rin. If you get to Thong Sala, you need to take a taxi/truck ride to Had Rin (20 minutes/50 Baht). Once you've arrived in Had Rin, go down to the docks and find a longtail boat going to Had Thian. It should cost 100 Baht. When you arrive at Had Thian, you will see a restaurant at the edge of the beach called the Sanctuary. It's best to start looking for accommodations here (dorm beds are available for around 70 Baht, bungalows start around 400 Baht) and then walk around to other places asking about available bungalows (ranging in price from 150 to 500 Baht). This is a small place, so people should be able to meet up without much trouble.

If you want to pick up kerosene, buy it in Had Rin before catching the boat to Had Thian. 20 liter containers cost 600 Baht ($15). Go to the grocery store by the pier and ask for "Na Mon Kat" in the "big" container. You can also change money in Had Rin and get other traveler supplies.

I will be here until at least the 8th, and may stop back in around the 14th. Looking forward to meeting anyone who makes it during my stay.

Hi, I had an amazing shamanic journey yesterday with Jon and a new Swiss friend named Thomas. I took 300+ mics and went for hike over to the next bech about 10 kilometers away. It was amazing, at the top the saddle that we had to clime over we could see the the entire bay of Thain nai pan. It was rything with many eyes that formed into a Thai Goddess who was lying on her side, she lifted herself up and began dancing, she was so beautifull yet terrorfying at the same time. She came close to me and kissed me, blessing me to her island home. She had six breasts and she began caressing them, the demon goddess then offered me all six nipples at once. It was super sexual, she spread her leggs rything before me, her flower polsating, drawing me in, I resisted at first but surrendered, being emersed into her, into nature, like a unborn child, I was swimming in psychedelic swirling embrionic fluid. This was one of the most vissual journeys I have ever experienced, right up there with dmt. At a certain point three Thai kings, massive in proportion rose from the hills, the middle one blessed me, like a king who is honoring a knite. Right before the sun sett, I felt strong surpintine energy slithering into my being and from the corner of my eye I caught site of a real King Cobra moving across the trail. It was such a blessing to see such a snake, they are very rare around here. This journey was such a profound lesson in surendering and being one with nature. I am still processing. My friends morphed into all there ancestors, I could see all the way back to where our dna crossed, it was fucking amazing. Several times I sent prayers of love out to loved ones. At a certain point, I felt a strong energy of my friends the Ben's come of over me, I believe they were journeying as well and sent a message. I hope to meet up with them. A little after dark we made it to the beach, it was so juicy full of life, the bay shaped like a giant yoni. I stripped naked, and dove into the warm life juices of the sea. Surrendering myself into nature, cleansing my sole with living waters. Much like being born again. I feel changed in a wonderfull way from this experience. Though I am carefull not to become attached to the past.
I have been practicing poi and staff everday, I have not found any good fire spinners to spin fire with, I think this saterday I will spin fire for the first time this trip.
I look forward to hearing more about your journey's.

Important info on Thailand

I found cheap tickets to thailand from LA through this travel egency...
626-356-4999 I got my ticket for $629
Good luck, I am flying out of LA january 5th. Let me know if any of you want to fly out with me.

When you fly in to Bankok, get some dental and medical work done as it is very good and very inexpensive. Then take a flight (around $80) to Ko Samui where you can take ferry to the Island of Ko Pagnan, you then will need to take a bus or ferry to the beaches of Hat Yuan and Hat Yin. Bungalows on the beach are between $2 and $30. The $2 bungalows are a room with a bed, shared bathroom and showers very basic but comfortable. The nicer rooms have electricity and private bathrooms.
I recomend taking advantage of the awesome thai massage healers, though check the vibe, some of them are prostitutes. There alot of thiefs in Thailand so watch your bags, do not leave your nice shoes out at night, I had a pair stollen of the porch of my bungalow. Hide your money and passport and any other precious items, most the bungalows are unsecure and can easily be entered.

Tuk tuk drivers will try to get you to go to all kinds of places you might not want to go, be assertive when dealing with them otherwise you might end up dodging ping pong's that are being shot from a midget contortionist with some serious yoni muscles... AIDS is very prevelent among prostitutes in Thailand.

Things to bring...
-Good hiking shoe's that are not too warm
-Good sandles like Teva's
-Lite warm weather clothes ( It is very hot and humid in Thailand)
-Fire toys
-Musical instriments
-any other items that will allow creative expression.
-Passport
-travelers checks can be nice though ATM's are readily available.
-Lonely Planet guide book
-camera
-pick up kerosene in ko samui or hadrin for fire dancing

Things not to bring...
-You do not need any warm clothes
-Travel lite, you can buy clothes there.
-be aware of the strict drug laws, be very carefull if you decide to use or bring. You all saw the movie The Beach? Thai prisons are full of foriegners with life sentences for drugs.
-Heavy bulky items, you will want to buy alot of cool things in bankok at the end of your trip so allow space to be filled.

Things to do or buy...
-Dental work
-medical
-tatoo's there are some excelent tatoo artists in thailand
-the markets in Bankok are alot cheaper than the shops on Ko Pagnan
you can find amazing artwork, carvings, clothes, jewelery(many stones are fakes so be carefull, ask around to find out how to see a fake fake.) and many more.
-there will be various workshops on the beaches like Thai massage, yoga, poi and staff dancing, qi gong, thai cooking, thai kick boxing.

Our dreams are only a breath away.
Loving you,
Forest

Information about Thailand Gathering?

Hello all,
I am new,
My name is Eli,
I live in Santa Barbara California, I just had a few questions that maybe someoen could help me out with?

I am a student at Brooks Institute of Photography and am currently writeing a Independent Studies proposal to try to Attend the Fire gathering and get class credit for it,
I am currently trying to make my way into the world shooting professional photography of Fire Performers/gatherings/performances,

well in order to write my proposal the instructors need some info
I have to somehow come up with 7 weeks worth of learning/shooting to do,

is there any list of workshops/things happening?
or does anyone know anything about the local culture that I could put in my proposal in order to show that I would not jsut be hangingout all day, and that I woudl actually be working...

and if anyoen from here is going maybe I can fly to thailand with you?
I love makign new frien ds, and if your a fire performer, maybe Ill take some photos of you ;)

thanks,
~~~Eli
