Thu, November 11, 2004 - 2:50 PMSo, apart from the plane tickets...$700ish, what else would we need money for? Where will everyone stay? Would we be camping or staying in cabins?
Thanks! -

well 40 baht is about 1 dallor, you can pay as much as 3000 baht or as little as 60 baht.. A group could take over a space pretty easly. and probably cheaper. -

Here's some info. Please share back if you know places to stay or cheap
places to get immunized in LA.
URL's:
www.kohphangan.com/
www.fullmoonparty-thailand.com/
Travelers' Insurance:
Lonely Planet
www.worldtravelcenter.com/eng/c...ex.cfm
$49.00
www.worldtravelcenter.com/eng/i...ts.cfm
See also STA Travel if you're a student, but it looks more expensive
www.statravel.com/Statravel...rance.aspx
Accommodations:
I don't know yet. Where's everyone going to stay?
I'll probably buy Lonely Planet for Thailand
Airfare:
www.orbitz.com had the cheapest of places I checked
if your departure/return dates are flexible, orbitz allows you to check
3 days ahead and behind (after you check your first flight)
Seems like China Airlines and JAL are the cheapest
I'm taking China Airlines
1/11 to 2/5
For $696.50 including taxes and fees
I have a stop over in Taiwan and arrive around midnight (that might be interesting)
travelmate in LA Weekly
Used JAL, quoted me $790
airfare.BootsNAll.com listed flights as low as $640, but they never called
Immunization (in Los Angeles):
Cheaper, possibly, depending on the costs of the shots
$39 office visit, Pasadena
www.healthytraveler.com/appoin...s1.html
Travel Medicine & Immunization Center
(310) 319-1566
1260 15th St
Santa Monica, CA 90404
spoke to Harry
$85 cost of visit
hep a & b $85 each
tetanus $50
typhoid fever $80

Re: Thailand
Wed, November 24, 2004 - 6:21 PMI just got tickets directly from the airlines. evaair.com (la to bangkok) and bangkokair.com (bangkok to sumui)
including all taxes, fees, tariffs, baits, switches, conversions and void where prohibiteds, it was US$688 for the first and US$170 for the second - both round trip.
so far, so good.
I haven't booked place to stay yet... I say we rent a palace and all be palacemates. -
