Bangkok, tuk tuk's, stinky streets, 3 people doing the job that could take one and lots of world travelers.

January fourth I went to the Medford airport where they proceeded to do the most extreme security check ever done on me. They went through every nook and orifice of my luggage. I did not feel too singled out though for they were going through this 75 year old born again christiains stuff with nearly as much zeal. After the profain security check this geazer handed me a panflet on christ and how to be fearfull of God. After reading this crap I unleashed upon the fearfull man my resentment that people like himself and George Bush are warping christs teachings of unconditional love to warant going on a killing spree, killing thousands in Gods name. Needless to say I freaked the fool out a bit so it brought a great amount of laughter to myself and several people whom had witnessed our interaction when we discovered that we had been assigned seats next to each other. :) Gramps managed to wiezel ihis way out of being my bunk buddy by begging the stuardess to be assigned seperate seats. Of course I ended up sitting next to cute girl whom we had much fun passing the flight with interesting conversation and mild flirtation. I had a great visit with some friends in LA before leaving the next morning for Thailand. It is a funny thing but for my flight to Saibing China i ended up sitting next to the only cutie on the hole plain and then again on my flight from Saibing to Bangkok i was assigned to sit next to this lovely canadian girl who is teaching english in Bangkok. I am not looking to hook up with anyone right now, still being pressent with Jemini emotions, but it is kind of funny how spirit has a way of teasing me. I have arrived in bankok after a 18 hour flight, thats a long time to be trapped inside a giant flying cigar canister. It is good to have my feet back on earth. After a profoundly peacefull tailgaiting speedy taxi ride from the airport, I found a cheap room at the...

It leaves a bit to desire on the esthetic side of things so I might move but its clean, quiet and located next to the Bang Lamphu Canal. For those of you looking to meet me in Bangkok, check your e-mail again to make sure I have not relocated. I will check my mail every day for the next 2-3 days beofre I leave for Ko Phagnan.
I love you all.

  • Update: I'm in Bangkok now, making my way to Ko Pha Ngan tomorrow (Sat) night.

I'm staying at the Royal, which is a block away from Khao San Rd (for better or worse). Enjoying flush toilets and hot showers for just a little while longer (960 baht/night, but only for a couple days). I'm yearning for the beach and a respite from the traffic and the dirt of the city, see you all soon!

ps - Tonight, I'm going to try to check out the fire spinners at Prha Athit that Matt mentioned. If anyone is here, say hi!

pps - I love these food vendors! A tasty meal for 25 Baht!

ppps - For anyone flying red eye with stop over in Taipei in the middle of the night: Bring something warm, IT'S FREEZING in the airport.

pppps - Oh Wat Po massage (beautiful temples) with hot herbs....maybe just one more :)
